Tony Hashemian
The mission of the Global Oral Health program is to create oral health solutions through leadership development, innovation, dental education, and emerging technology while promoting peace through collaborative and compassionate care to underserved populations worldwide.
Dr. Tony Hashemian is Associate Dean for Global Oral Health and Assistant Professor at Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ASDOH). He is the developer of Text2Floss and pH2OH, two mobile applications designed to increase oral health awareness.
Dr. Hashemian is a graduate of Creighton University School of Dentistry and earned a B.A. in physiology from the University of Minnesota. He has been in private practice since 1997 and owner-operator of multiple dental offices in Arizona. In 2003, founded Appleton Dental Plan, an innovative and cost-effective alternative to traditional dental insurance. Dr. Hashemian is the 2012 recipient of the Health Care Leadership Award and named Dentist of the Year by Arizona Business magazine.
Dr. Hashemian established the first scholarship for ASDOH dental students’ in 2004, the Dr. Tony Hashemian Award of Excellence, for the individual achieving the highest score on the National Board Dental Examination. He is the former Chair of ASDOH’s Admissions Committee.
